Chiang Mai has 472 licensed cannabis dispensaries on the government register, the fifth highest count in Thailand and the largest in the north.
Inside the city, Nimman and Santitham have the biggest cluster with 73 licensed shops, followed by the Night Bazaar and riverside area and the Old City. Many more are spread across greater Chiang Mai, south towards Hang Dong and north towards Mae Rim.
Travelling on to Pai? Pai is in Mae Hong Son province, not Chiang Mai, so its shops are listed under Mae Hong Son on the full register. In Chiang Mai itself, 157 licences carry a 31 December 2026 expiry date, so check a shop's status below before you buy.

From DTAM's Medical Cannabis GIS, licensed retail outlets only (updated October 2026). A licence shown as valid means the shop is on the register, not that we have visited or recommend it. For the shops that passed every test, use the curated lists.
