There is a moment I have had in hundreds of Bangkok dispensaries. The door shuts behind me, the street noise drops, and within about thirty seconds I know whether this shop is any good. It is never the neon. It is whether someone looks up, asks what I am after, and opens a jar for me to smell before mentioning a price.
I have walked into more than 650 dispensaries in Bangkok alone. Most were fine. Plenty were bad. A small number were so consistently good that I keep sending friends back to them. These are the best weed shops in Bangkok right now: twelve licensed dispensaries spread from On Nut to Khao San, each picked for flower quality, honest staff and how they treat a first time visitor.
Every shop below is on my Certified Bangkok list and was matched to an active licence on the official register when I compiled this. Hours and licences change, so confirm before you go, and check the licence sticker or the Dispensary Register.
Rankings online are mostly star ratings, and in Bangkok almost every shop sits at 4.9 or 5.0. That number tells you very little. I wrote about why in a separate post on how to find a good dispensary in Bangkok. This is what I actually score:
Flower you can see and smell. Glass jars, open on request. Not pre bagged mystery product.
Staff who ask before they sell. The best budtenders ask what you want to feel, then pick for you. The worst ask what you want to spend.
Honesty about the law. A shop that asks for your PT33, or offers a proper consultation, is a shop that plans to still be open next year.
Consistency. One great visit is luck. I only list shops that were good on repeat visits, at different times of day.
A licence that checks out. Non negotiable. If you want to verify a shop yourself, here is how to read the sticker and check the register.
The benchmark I measure other shops against. Stash sits a short walk from On Nut BTS, runs 24 hours a day, and is women owned and openly LGBTQ+ friendly. The budtenders are properly trained, the menu runs to dozens of strains, and nobody makes you feel rushed. There are board games, massage chairs and a PS5 if you are waiting for a friend. With 1,700+ Google reviews at a 5.0 average, it is probably the most visitor friendly dispensary in the city.
The flagship of a brand that has properly worked out what it stands for. It sits right by Phrom Phong BTS, with uniformed staff, humidity controlled displays and a loyalty programme. The staff speak fluent English and know their product without pushing it. If I had to send a nervous first timer to one shop in Bangkok, it would be this one. There is a Thai traditional medicine practitioner on site, so you can get your PT33 and buy in one visit. Over 2,000 Google reviews at a 5.0 average back that up.
Everything that makes the On Nut branch good, moved to Ari, the quieter neighbourhood north of the centre where a lot of Bangkok's longer stay expats live. Also open 24 hours, slightly more local in feel, with a gaming lounge and space to settle in for an afternoon. If you are staying up that way, this is your home base. 1,100+ Google reviews at 5.0.
Started by two people from banking and tech, and you can feel it in how well run it is. The interior is a genuine design statement: fluted wood ceiling, bare concrete, green velvet. It sits in a narrow lane between Sala Daeng BTS and Si Lom MRT, close enough to find easily and tucked away enough to feel like a discovery. Staff hospitality gets mentioned in review after review. 1,500+ Google reviews at 5.0.
The main branch of a small Bangkok chain, in a multi floor building off Soi Sathon 11. You are greeted with a glass of cold water and staff who take the time to explain the menu without any pressure, and the range runs from honest everyday flower to proper premium jars. There is a burger kitchen on site too. It is about a 10 minute walk from Chong Nonsi BTS, or a short Grab. With 2,100+ Google reviews at 5.0, this is one of the most reviewed shops in the city for good reason.
Four floors up a winding little building on Surawong Road, within walking distance of Chong Nonsi BTS and close to the Patpong night market. The climb is part of the charm, and the view at the top is the reason people remember it. The product is positioned firmly at the premium end, and the English speaking staff give strong, specific recommendations. 1,400+ Google reviews at 5.0.
On Sukhumvit Soi 22 under the Holiday Inn, and the closest thing in Bangkok to the Amsterdam style dispensary many visitors imagine. Touch screen menus list lab tested THC figures, and the staff talk about strains the way a sommelier talks about wine. There is a Thai traditional medicine practitioner on site for consultations, which makes it a sensible first stop if you still need your PT33 prescription. Look out for Tom Yum Kush on the menu. 1,100+ Google reviews at 4.9.
The flagship of the Four Twenty group, on Sukhumvit 21 a short walk from Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT. The thing I love here is the central table of open jars you can smell freely before you decide, which is how buying flower should work everywhere. The Laughing Buddha has a loyal following among regulars. 1,200+ Google reviews at 4.9.
One of Bangkok's original premium dispensaries, a short walk from Nana BTS. It stocks GACP certified flower, hands out certificates of analysis as standard, and has a Thai traditional medicine practitioner on site. It also carries a range of traditional Thai herbs that goes well beyond the usual dispensary shelf. If paperwork and provenance matter to you, start here. 1,000+ Google reviews at 4.9.
Directly opposite CentralWorld on Ratchadamri Road, which makes it the obvious stop if you are shopping around Siam and Pratunam. The teal and white interior feels more lifestyle boutique than weed shop, and one budtender in particular, Wood, gets named again and again for his strain knowledge. 1,500+ Google reviews at 4.9.
Right by Thong Lo BTS and open 24 hours, running almost entirely on word of mouth. Close to 2,000 Google reviews at a perfect 5.0 is extraordinary for a shop without a proper website. The strain names point to craft sourcing rather than bulk supply, and the pre rolls are particularly good, which matters if you travelled without rolling gear.
On a road with a dispensary every few doors, this is the one that earned its reviews. Staff get praised by name in review after review, which tells you the team is exceptional rather than just functional, and the shop feels calmer than the chaos outside. There is no train station nearby, so take a Grab or the river boat to Phra Athit pier. 1,000+ Google reviews at 5.0.
Start with where you are staying. All twelve are good. The best one for you is usually the one you can reach without a long taxi ride. My station guides go deeper on each area: Nana, Asok, Phrom Phong, Thong Lo and Ekkamai, Silom and Khao San and Chinatown.
If you need a prescription first, pick a shop with a practitioner on site, like Siam Green, Kush House or Mary Jane, or ask at the door before you queue.
If you land late, Stash, Trippy Nation and my other 24 hour picks are the ones still worth it at 2am.
If you want to sit and work, MedMen on Soi 11 and the Stash branches both double as proper work spaces. The full set is in Bangkok's co-working dispensaries.
If you are curious which shops everyone else is looking up, I compared search demand against my own ratings in Bangkok's most Googled dispensaries. The overlap is smaller than you would think.
Buying is legal only with a PT33 prescription from a Thai licensed practitioner, from a licensed shop, if you are 20 or older. None of these shops is a place to consume. Smoking on the premises is banned, and smoking in public carries a widely reported fine of up to 25,000 baht. Take it home to a private space where you have permission. I cover the options in where you can actually smoke in Bangkok, and the whole process from landing to first purchase in my guide to weed in Bangkok.
I could have listed fifty. Bangkok has a lot of good shops. But a list of fifty is a directory, and you can get a directory anywhere. These twelve are the ones I would send my own friends to, spread out so that wherever you are staying, one of them is close.
The full Certified Bangkok list has 40+ shops that passed every test across my 900+ Bangkok visits, and it is free by email from the curated list page, ready to load into Google Maps.
I post new finds and honest reviews on Instagram, including the shops that dropped off this list and why. The owners behind several of these shops, and the growers who supply them, compare notes inside Reefers Club, an invite only community of people in the Thai cannabis industry. And if you run a shop that deserves to be found by the right visitors, that is the marketing and content work I do.
Pick the one nearest your bed, bring your passport, and smell before you buy.
Written by someone who has opened more jars in Bangkok than he can count and still gets excited when a budtender asks the right question.
This article reflects personal observations from extensive dispensary visits. Shop details, hours and licence status change, so confirm before you go. Legal purchase in Thailand requires a PT33 prescription. Consume in private only. Adults 20+ only.
