Get off the train at Phrom Phong and the first thing you notice is that nobody is shouting at you. Asok and Nana sell volume. Phrom Phong sells polish. The station drops you between giant malls, the side streets fill with Japanese restaurants and serviced apartments, and the dispensaries here are pitched at people who live in the neighbourhood rather than people passing through it.
That changes the shops. If you are looking for weed near Phrom Phong, the good news is that the average standard is higher than at almost any other stop on the Sukhumvit line. The bad news is that prices tend to follow the postcode.
Here is the shortlist: six licensed dispensaries within 600m of Phrom Phong BTS, walking times measured from verified station coordinates, and what each one does best. It comes from 900+ dispensary visits, 900+ in Bangkok, and a lot of afternoons on Soi 22.
North side, south side. Phrom Phong BTS (E5) sits over Sukhumvit with big malls on both sides of the road and the Soi 22 to Soi 26 grid on the south side. Odd numbered sois run north, even numbered south. The dispensaries cluster in three places: right at the station, down Soi 22, and in the Soi 26 pocket.
Soi 22 is the hotspot. Two of the shops below sit around the top of Soi 22, a few doors apart, with THE DISPENSARY a short walk away on Sukhumvit Road. If you are comparing, this is one of the most efficient walks in the city: three good shops in about five minutes.
Why 600m. My BTS dispensary rule says the ideal shop is within five minutes of the station. I stretch to 600m because at Phrom Phong the Soi 22 cluster sits just past that five minute mark, and leaving it out would be silly.
Every shop below matched an entry on the official licence register when I compiled this. Hours and licences change, so confirm before you go, and check the licence sticker at the door or look the shop up on the ThaiCannaMapped Dispensary Register.
Best for: a first timer, or a friend who has never tried cannabis.
About 1 minute's walk from Phrom Phong BTS (roughly 50m). This is the Siam Green flagship, and it is the most frictionless dispensary visit I know in Bangkok. Uniformed staff who speak excellent English, flower kept in humidity controlled displays, a loyalty programme, and a team that explains without pushing. 2,000+ Google reviews at a 5.0 average. A Thai traditional medicine practitioner works on site, so the prescription and the purchase happen under one roof. If you are bringing someone nervous, bring them here.
Best for: an independent with personality in a street of chains.
About 4 minutes' walk from Phrom Phong BTS (roughly 300m), on the Soi 26 side. Weed Man has built a loyal following through consistency rather than a big brand budget, with a 5.0 average across 450+ Google reviews. It is the shop people recommend to each other by name. Closes around 10pm, so plan for an afternoon or early evening visit.
Best for: a casual browse inside a market.
About 5 minutes' walk from Phrom Phong BTS (roughly 450m), in Chapter Market on Soi 26. Arijuana is a small Bangkok brand with a few branches, and this one has a 5.0 average across 600+ Google reviews. The market setting makes it an easy stop if you are already out for food. Opening times vary by day, with later starts early in the week, so check before you go.
Best for: a sleek, no gimmick shop on the main road.
About 5 minutes' walk from Phrom Phong BTS (roughly 450m), on Sukhumvit Road heading west toward Asok. The name tells you the attitude: no cute branding, just the thing itself, done well. The space is clean and photogenic and the team is responsive on LINE, which is a good sign of an operator who pays attention. Closes around 10pm.
Best for: lab tested detail and a proper sommelier style conversation.
About 7 minutes' walk from Phrom Phong BTS (roughly 550m), at the top of Soi 22 under the Holiday Inn. Touch screen menus show lab tested THC figures for each strain, the walls carry rotating art, and a budtender named Anna is mentioned in review after review for treating flower the way a good sommelier treats wine. A Thai traditional medicine practitioner is on site. Look out for Tom Yum Kush, a cross with Chocolate Thai in its family tree, because of course it is.
Best for: a relaxed, mood first recommendation.
About 7 minutes' walk from Phrom Phong BTS (roughly 550m), on Soi 22. The quieter sibling of the Four Twenty flagship at Asok: industrial interior, a clean setup, and a team praised for asking what mood you are chasing before they ask about budget. Open around the clock most of the week, with shorter Sunday hours.
Phrom Phong at night is mostly restaurants, rooftop bars and families heading home from the malls. It is one of the most comfortable stops on the line to walk around after dark. Soi 22 gets busier, but it is busy in a neighbourhood way, not a nightlife strip way.
Expect to pay more. In my visits, Phrom Phong prices sit at the higher end of the Sukhumvit range. The trade is better service and more patient staff, which often makes the gram better value than a cheaper one at a louder stop.
Mall security is not your friend. Do not consume anywhere near the malls, Benchasiri Park or the mall terraces. Public places are public places, prescription or not.
To buy flower legally you need a licensed shop and a PT33 prescription from a Thai licensed practitioner. Tourists qualify with a passport. A prescription from home does not count, and a chat based consultation is a grey area, so do it in person. The steps are in my PT33 prescription guide.

Is there a 24 hour dispensary near Phrom Phong? Almost. Four Twenty The Loft on Soi 22 ran around the clock every night except Sunday when I compiled this. Confirm before you go.
Is Phrom Phong more expensive than Nana? Often, yes. You are paying for staff time and quieter shops, which is usually worth it.
