Silom has two personalities and they change shifts at about 6pm. By day it is Bangkok's financial district: lanyards, office towers, lunch queues and the skywalk full of people walking fast. By night the same streets hand over to Patpong's market, the Soi 2 and Soi 4 bars, and a crowd that is in no hurry at all.
Silom weed shops sit right in the middle of that switch. Some serve the after work crowd, some serve the night market crowd, and a few manage both. The trick is knowing which is which before you get off the train.
This guide covers five licensed dispensaries within 600m of Sala Daeng BTS, Si Lom MRT or Chong Nonsi BTS, with walking times measured from verified station coordinates. It comes from 900+ dispensary visits, 900+ of them in Bangkok, and more than a few evenings dodging the Patpong market stalls.
Sala Daeng and Si Lom are a pair. Sala Daeng BTS (S2) on the Silom line and Si Lom MRT (BL26) on the Blue Line sit at the same junction where Silom Road meets Rama IV, a few minutes apart on foot. Treat them as one stop.
Chong Nonsi is the other end. Chong Nonsi BTS (S3) sits one stop south, where Silom meets Sathorn. It is the better stop for the Sathorn side and for Decho Road.
Sam Yan and Surasak are on the edges. Sam Yan MRT, the next stop along the Blue Line from Si Lom, is about a 5 minute walk from the Patpong end of Surawong Road. Surasak BTS, two stops past Chong Nonsi, serves the western end of Sathorn. None of my picks is closest to either, but they are useful if you are coming from a different line.
Why 600m. My BTS dispensary rule says the ideal shop is within five minutes of the station. I stretch to 600m, which is about seven or eight minutes. Silom is compact, so most of the good shops sit well inside that.
Every shop below matched an entry on the official licence register when I compiled this. Hours and licences change, so confirm before you go, and check the licence sticker at the door or look the shop up on the ThaiCannaMapped Dispensary Register.
Best for: lab tested flower in the middle of the nightlife.
About 4 minutes' walk from Sala Daeng BTS (roughly 300m), on Patpong 2 with the night market practically at the door. This is the sister shop to Mary Jane at Nana: GACP certified flower, a Thai traditional medicine practitioner on site, and certificates of analysis on the product as standard. In a zone where trust is the scarce resource, a brand that hands you the lab paperwork is worth a lot. Opens early afternoon and runs until 1am.
Best for: a considered, design led visit and a place to work.
About 4 minutes' walk from Si Lom MRT (roughly 300m) and about 5 minutes from Sala Daeng BTS (roughly 400m), down a narrow lane off Sala Daeng Road. Two former banking and tech professionals built this shop, and you can feel it: fluted wood ceiling, exposed concrete, green velvet, a layout that feels upscale without being stiff. A staff member named Perl gets mentioned in review after review for warm hospitality. 1,500+ Google reviews at a 5.0 average, and it doubles as a certified co-working space, with board games when the laptop closes.
Best for: coffee first, cannabis second.
About 4 minutes' walk from Sala Daeng BTS (roughly 350m), on Convent Road. The dispensary shares its space with the X2O cafe, which makes it the easiest visit in Silom for anyone who is curious but not committed. Come for a coffee, talk to the staff, leave with a recommendation or a jar. It opens at 8am, earlier than almost any dispensary in the area, so it suits a morning errand before the office crowd floods in.
Best for: a neon, club style space near Chong Nonsi.
About 2 minutes' walk from Chong Nonsi BTS (roughly 150m). CANABANGKA is a Bangkok brand with its own farm and GACP certified product, and this branch wraps it in an underground concept: neon lighting, gaming, and a feel closer to a members club than a shop. A good contrast with the office tower energy outside. It opens mid afternoon and closes around midnight.
Best for: a dependable 24/7 door on the Sathorn side.
About 7 minutes' walk from Chong Nonsi BTS (roughly 500m), on Decho Road. Open 24/7. Euphoria is the shop Silom locals message each other about at 1am. Its reputation rests on consistency and value for the quality, and the staff keep their energy up at odd hours. No theatre, just good flower and proper guidance. If you are staying around Silom or north Sathorn and need something late, start here.
From about 7pm, Patpong's night market sets up and the Silom sois fill. The area is busy and generally safe, but it is a nightlife district, and nightlife districts have touts.
Ignore anyone selling on the street. A licensed shop does not need someone on the pavement steering you in, and anything offered to you outside is outside the legal system entirely.
Check the sticker. In a busy nightlife district, looking licensed and being licensed are not the same thing. My guide to spotting a good dispensary covers what to look for, starting with the licence sticker at the door.
Lumphini Park is not a smoking area. Neither is the skywalk, the market, or the bar terrace. Public places are public places.
Buying flower legally now means a licensed shop and a PT33 prescription from a Thai licensed practitioner. Tourists qualify with a passport. A foreign prescription does not count, and chat based consultations are a grey area, so go in person. The process is in my PT33 prescription guide.
Then take it somewhere private. Selling for smoking on site can now cost a shop its licence, so the old lounge model is effectively over. See where you can actually smoke in Bangkok.
Just past the radius. The High Rooftop on Surawong Road is about 8 minutes' walk from Chong Nonsi BTS (roughly 650m), a four floor climb to a rooftop dispensary with English fluent staff. Fat Buds Sathorn, the main branch of the Fat Buds group, is about 9 minutes from Chong Nonsi (roughly 750m) in a multi floor building with a friendly, no pressure team. Both are licensed and worth the extra steps if you have time.
The old town. For Khao San and Chinatown, which have no BTS at all, see my old town dispensary guide.
Sukhumvit. If you are heading back to a hotel on the Sukhumvit side, the Asok and Sukhumvit MRT guide is a straight ride up the Blue Line from Si Lom, and the Sukhumvit dispensary guide covers the rest of the corridor.
The bigger picture. The best weed shops in Bangkok is the city wide shortlist, and weed in Bangkok covers buying, costs and the law. For a laptop friendly shop, see Bangkok's co-working dispensaries. For after midnight, see my 24 hour picks.
Which dispensary is closest to Sala Daeng BTS? Of the licensed shops I recommend, Mary Jane Patpong and Cannabis Kingdom, both about 4 minutes' walk.
Is there a 24 hour dispensary in Silom? Yes. Euphoria on Decho Road was open 24/7 when I compiled this. Confirm before you go.
Is Patpong safe for buying weed? Buy from a licensed shop, not the street, and you will be fine. Ignore touts and anyone offering to sell outside.
The five above are the Silom highlights. My Exit, Elevate list covers 60+ Bangkok dispensaries under 600m from a BTS or MRT stop, ready to load into Google Maps. It is free on the curated list page, along with The Night Shift for the 24 hour options.
I share Silom finds on Instagram, including the ones that look good from the street and are not. A number of the operators in this district are part of Reefers Club, an invite only community of people in the Thai cannabis industry. And for Silom shops competing with Patpong neon for attention, without breaking the advertising ban, my marketing and content work is about earning it the slower, better way.
Get off at Sala Daeng. Skip the touts. Walk with a plan.
Written by someone who has learned that the Patpong market and a careful buying decision rarely happen in the same five minutes.
