Thong Lo is where Bangkok goes when it wants to be seen. Specialty coffee at 10am, natural wine at 10pm, and in between a steady stream of people who live here, work here and do not need a menu translated. Ekkamai, one stop east, is the same energy with the edges left on: more locals, more music venues, and fewer people trying to impress anyone.
For dispensaries, that mix is close to perfect. If you are looking for Thonglor weed or an Ekkamai dispensary, you are in the part of Sukhumvit where shops survive on repeat customers rather than passing tourists, and it shows.
This guide covers six licensed dispensaries within 600m of Thong Lo, Ekkamai or Phra Khanong BTS, with walking times measured from verified station coordinates. It comes from 900+ dispensary visits, 900+ of them in Bangkok, and more Ekkamai evenings than my liver would like.
Three stations, one stretch. Thong Lo (E6), Ekkamai (E7) and Phra Khanong (E8) sit in a row on the Sukhumvit line. Thong Lo and Ekkamai are about 11 minutes apart on foot, so it is easy to cover both in one walk.
The sois are long. Soi 55 (Thong Lo) and Soi 63 (Ekkamai) each run north for a few kilometres. A shop "on Thong Lo" might be a minute from the station or a 20 minute walk. Everything below is measured from the station itself.
Why 600m. My BTS dispensary rule says the ideal shop is within five minutes of the station. I stretch to 600m. Here, most of the best shops sit far closer than that.
Every shop below matched an entry on the official licence register when I compiled this. Hours and licences change, so confirm before you go, and check the licence sticker at the door or look the shop up on the ThaiCannaMapped Dispensary Register.
Best for: craft strains and strong pre rolls, any time.
Less than a minute's walk from Thong Lo BTS (roughly 50m). Open 24/7. Close to 2,000 Google reviews at a perfect 5.0, which is remarkable for a shop with no real website and almost no marketing. The menu reads like a craft list rather than a bulk supply sheet, and the pre roll selection is particularly good, which matters if you travelled without rolling gear. The staff are well trained and it shows at 2am as much as at 2pm. If you only visit one shop on this stretch, it is a strong candidate.
Best for: the local favourite with loyal regulars.
About 1 minute's walk from Ekkamai BTS (roughly 50m). Open 24/7. TYGER WEED has close to 900 Google reviews at a 5.0 average and a community that recommends it with real enthusiasm. No flashy website, no big social push, just consistent flower and a team that makes people feel looked after. It is reachable on LINE, which tells you the owner actually wants to hear from customers.
Best for: honest pricing without tourist inflation.
About 2 minutes' walk from Ekkamai BTS (roughly 200m). The name is the pitch, and it delivers. This shop has a cult following among expats and budget minded visitors who want decent flower at prices that feel fair rather than marked up for the tourist corridor. A 5.0 average across 400+ Google reviews. Open from noon into the early hours.
Best for: a community shop with range at every price point.
About 5 minutes' walk from Ekkamai BTS (roughly 400m), on Soi 65. Grunge interior, sign the wall, slap a sticker on it. Fat Buds is the anti boutique, and it ends up being one of the best experiences in Bangkok because it does not pretend to be anything else. The owners believe cannabis should be accessible, so there is an affordable organic option on the menu next to the premium jars, and the staff will happily talk you through the different farms they buy from. Over 1,100 Google reviews at a 5.0 average.
Best for: farm direct flower from people who grew it.
About 6 minutes' walk from Ekkamai BTS (roughly 500m), on Soi 42 on the south side of Sukhumvit. Diamond Trichome grows its own cannabis and supplies other shops as well as selling retail. That means the person behind the counter can explain the genetics and the growing of each strain, because their own team did it. Reviews keep mentioning fresh, consistently potent product. If provenance matters to you, this is one of the few shops in Bangkok that can answer the question fully. Shorter hours than its neighbours, closing around 10 or 11pm.
Best for: a neighbourhood shop at the quieter end.
About 3 minutes' walk from Phra Khanong BTS (roughly 250m), at the W District on Sukhumvit. Daddy's has 900+ Google reviews at a 5.0 average, and the owner's replies to reviews tell you someone is paying attention. It serves the residential end of Ekkamai and Phra Khanong, and it is open until 4am, which is useful on this side of town.
This is one of the most comfortable areas in Bangkok to be out at night. The bars are busy but grown up, the street food is excellent, and the crowd is mostly Thai professionals and long stay expats rather than first night tourists.
The prices are more honest. In my visits, a good gram at Ekkamai is often better value than a more expensive one at a branded Nana store. Ekkamai in particular has shops that compete on quality and price rather than footfall.
Plan your route home. If you are buying late, know how you are getting back before you go. Grab is easy to find here.
Legal flower in Thailand means a licensed shop and a PT33 prescription from a Thai licensed practitioner. Tourists qualify with a passport; foreign prescriptions do not. Get it in person rather than by chat. The full process is in my PT33 prescription guide.
Then consume in private. Some shops on this stretch used to have lounges; under current rules, selling for smoking on site can cost a shop its licence, and you do not want to be sitting there when the inspector arrives. See where you can actually smoke in Bangkok.
One stop west, Phrom Phong. Quieter, more polished, and home to a strong Soi 22 cluster. See weed near Phrom Phong.
Further east, On Nut. One of Bangkok's benchmark 24/7 shops sits right by On Nut BTS. It is in my 24 hour dispensary picks.
Wellness first. If you want organic, CBD or Thai herbal options, see Bangkok's best wellness dispensaries.
The full picture. My Sukhumvit dispensary guide covers the corridor from Nana to On Nut, the best weed shops in Bangkok is the city wide shortlist, and weed in Bangkok covers buying, costs and the law.

The six above are the highlights. My Exit, Elevate list covers 60+ Bangkok dispensaries under 600m from a BTS or MRT stop, Sukhumvit Sessions has 25+ from Nana to On Nut, and The Night Shift lists 20+ that stay open all night. All free on the curated list page.
I share Thong Lo and Ekkamai finds on Instagram. A good number of the operators on this stretch are part of Reefers Club, an invite only community of people in the Thai cannabis industry. And for the independents here that win on quality but stay invisible online, my marketing and content work is about fixing exactly that.
Start at Thong Lo. Walk east. Stop when the staff ask you a good question.
Written by someone who has walked from Thong Lo to Ekkamai more times than the BTS has run between them.
This article reflects personal observations from extensive dispensary visits. Shop details, hours and licence status change, so confirm before you go. Legal purchase in Thailand requires a PT33 prescription. Consume in private only. Adults 20+ only.
